Please support the Transition Zone on the east side of Kimbark. It abuts Lower Downtown, so it applies to properties adjacent to our RLE zone. (Technically speaking, the Transition Zone is the Residential Compatibility section of the new Land Development Code).
The city council meeting on July 24th to should be the first of two readings before it becomes ordinance.
The good news is that the draft going before city council will apparently reflect our request to restrict the Transition zone height to 35′ maximum for the entire lot adjacent to our residential homes!!!
This is a HUGE step in the right direction – and we wouldn’t be here without all of your help, calls, emails and meeting attendance! Your voice does matter!!!
But we do need to attend these next two meetings to make sure it is approved with this language in the ordinance. It’s not over until city council’s final approval – but we’re so close, and it’s looking like our concerns have been noted and will be included.
So please mark your calendars for July 24 and likely August 14. (We will let you know if these dates change). City council meetings are at the Civic Center at 350 Kimbark St.
You don’t have to speak unless you want to. Paula Fitzgerald will be speaking on the Historic Eastside’s behalf. and we’d love to see you there to stand up in support when the time comes.
Again thanks for helping out with this important issue!!
Any questions about this issue or this meeting?
